Cool Pools and Waterparks

Are you looking for a fun way to beat the heat this summer? Or do you need a cool way for your kids to fill their summer days? You need not look far, for our area of Northern Virginia has some great pools and waterparks that the whole family will enjoy. You can join a club with swim teams and full facilities or plan a day of water adventures at a nearby waterpark. Check these out and see which ones fit the bill for you.

Atlantis Waterpark

Atlantis Waterpark, just outside of Gainesville, has tons of water fun for the whole family. With two giant water slides, a 500-gallon dumping bucket and water cannons, big kids and little kids will enjoy an energetic cool down. For those looking for a slower pace, there are relaxing pools, and the little ones will have fun splashing in the baby pool and playing in the sand area. Neptune’s Reef snack bar serves tasty treats you can enjoy under big shaded umbrellas.

Evergreen Country Club

Located in Haymarket, Evergreen is one of the leading private-membership clubs in Northern Virginia.  At the foot of Bull Run Mountain, this beautiful club boasts a newly renovated 25-meter pool with a wading pool, a full snack bar and a bathhouse. There are lovely grassy picnic areas with a volleyball court. And if there’s a golfer in the family, he or she will love the challenging, well-maintained golf course in this pristine setting.

Signal Bay Waterpark

Manassas Parks and Recreation has a 27,000 square foot aquatic facility in Signal Hill Park. It features a zero-depth leisure pool with cannons, slides and a lazy river. There are clean-up facilities and a concession for your convenience. This is a fun park for families with young children.

The Sudley Club

The Sudley Club is a private-membership club that has been a part of the Manassas community for fifty years. It offers a beautiful pool and grounds with shaded picnic tables, a playground, tennis courts and basketball courts. The club hosts tennis matches, adult socials and swim meets and is home to the Sudley Seahorses, a successful, competitive swim team with professional-quality coaching.

Splashdown Waterpark

Splashdown Waterpark has just the right kind of water fun for everyone. For thrill seekers, there are two four-story water slides, cannonball slides and twister slides. For the more laid-back visitor, there’s the 770-foot lazy river and a white sandy beach. The serious swimmer will love the 25-meter lap pool and the little ones will be thrilled with the bubbles, fountains and slides in their special area. When all the water lovers get hungry, there are five eateries offering pizza, BBQ and boardwalk classics — even funnel cakes! Operated by Prince William County Parks and Recreation, Splashdown offers discounts for our military families.
